Hi! I'm Alan McMorran, owner of the Smith Nielsen and Transmission Shop & Auto Repair of Brooklyn Park. I have been in the automotive repair business for 40 years. I started by attending Dunwoody Industrial Institute for automotive repair.
Hi! I'm Alan McMorran, owner of the Smith Nielsen and Transmission Shop & Auto Repair of Brooklyn Park. I have been in the automotive repair business for 40 years. I started by attending Dunwoody Industrial Institute for automotive repair.
I have worked for and owned Smith Nielsen and Transmission Shop & Auto Repair for 35 of those years, starting as a transmission rebuilder, then as a store manager, and finally as a store owner. In all this time, the philosophy of treating the customer, as you would want to be treated has helped take Smith Nielsen from one shop into a growing organization.
Cars have changed a lot in the last 40 years but you can be sure that Smith Nielsen will still treat you like we did at the start.

Started working on vehicles at 15 years old. Graduated from Dunwoody College Of Technology in 2007 with an AAS Degree. Have been a technician and manager at various shops from corporate, franchise and independent. Owned/Operated own shop at one point in my life. Drag and drift race as hobbies. Automotive has been my life and will be continuing this career for years to come!
